Presidency College is an undergraduate college in Chennai, India.

When the University of Madras was founded in 1857, Presidency Chennai got affiliated to it. It is a source of pride for the college that it is considered to be the mother of the University of Madras.

The college moved to its present location in Kamaraj Salai in 1870.

The college was granted autonomy in 1987, though its degrees are still conferred by the University of Madras. Since then, the college has attempted limited curricular and examination reforms to make education meaningful and contemporary. The college has been accredited with Four Stars by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The Centenary of the College was celebrated in the year 1940.
The college offers 20 postgraduate and 18 undergraduate courses through 24 departments. The college also provides facilities for research in many faculties.
